Hammer Hat Trick

Hammer, Gregg Hammerman, earned Mighty Good Player of the Game honors by scoring a hat trick and leading North Coast to a 6-3 victory over Miller Lite. Mucho Grande, Dave Grand, contributed a goal and two assists to add to his team leading point total.
The game was close at 2-2 until midway through the second period after which the Men In Black scored four unanswered goals to finish out the game. The Rapper, Tim Allen, and The Big Fella, Kurt Riegger, accounted for the Coasties' other goals. Superman, Ed Pokryfky, came up big in net stopping two breakaways early in the game while the score was close.
Coasties Halt Three Game Winless Streak

After posting the best ten game start in team history (7-1-2), the Men In Black lost two and tied one in their next three games.
A-Train, Lindsay Aspegren, led the Coasties back to the winning track against the Barracuda with a Gordie Howe hat trick plus one - a goal, an assist and two penalties. A-Train scored the game winning goal in the second period on a partial breakaway assisted by Sweeps, Mike Braun, and The Rapper, Tim Allen. A-Train and P-Mac, Paul McCreadie, later teamed up on a beautiful goal to ice the game in the third period. P-Mac skated in hard from the point, passed to A-Train below the goal who made an immediate return pass that P-Mac buried for a perfectly executed give and go.
Superman, Ed Pokryfky, earned his first shutout of the season in net.
Mucho Grande Es Muy Caliente

Mucho Grande, Dave Grand, is the hottest player in D3 hockey so far this season. Mucho Grande has recorded a goal or an assist in all ten games so far this season, which is believed to be the longest scoring streak in North Coast history. He leads the team in goals and assists and has propelled the Coasties to a 7-1-2 record, the best ten game start for the Men In Black since their move to the D League in 2005.
Unbeaten Streak at Five

North Coast earned a hard fought 1-1 tie against the Russian Bears Wednesday night. The Big Fella, Kurt Riegger, got the Coasties on the board first with a quick shot in the slot off a nice pass from Mucho Grande, Dave Grand. The Bears tied the game on a deflection off a North Coast defenseman's skate. North Coast generated several excellent scoring chances, but could not convert. Superman, Ed Pokryfky, had another stellar game in net, turning away several breakaways to preserve the tie.
Superman Leads Coasties to Win

In his second game back from ACL surgery, Superman, Ed Pokyryfky, earned Mighty Good Player of the Game honors for his stellar play in net. Superman stopped several breakaways and calmly stopped multiple shot melees in front of the net. He even cleared the zone himself on a penalty kill.
Sensei, John Ford, scored the game's first goal on a rebound where he controlled the puck, waited for the goalie to drop, and scored top shelf. Woody, Scott Wood, put the Coasties up by two assisted by LaxBro, Darren Millman, and The Professor, Charles Conrad. After Mott pulled within one, The Professor scored the ultimate game winning goal with assists to LaxBro and A-Train, Lindsay Aspegren.
