Sunderland Comes To Town

The Harvesters came to town on Thursday night and did what they do best, work slow and methodical and grind it out. And that's exactly what they did.
The Old Dogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Sunderland began their attack, but not before Cory fed Jeff a beaut in front of the net for goal #3.
Sunderland scored 7 times before the Dogs registered another hash mark.
Things started to fall apart when Cory tried to go over the boards on a shift change and looked more like a Zamboni than a skater!
And what about that brute #17, taking that 200 lb forward for Sunderland down behind the net. Body checking is illegal in this league and this reporter contacted the coach after the game for a comment. All that he would say was that a disciplinary meeting would be held and Mr. Kelly would be held accountable!
Stay tuned for further developments.
Next Thursday is our last home game at Legends. Let your friends and family know and come out and support your Hot Dogs.
Multiples Double Up On Dogs

Donovan Arena-Thursday March 14, 2013
The first of two appearances at Donovan this year didn't turn out well for the Dogs.
Hats off to young Alex the newest part-time member of the fraternity. He seems to be getting the idea: right place, right time. He and Chris S were the only scorers for the Old Guys in this 4-2 losing effort.
There will be one more game here at Donovan this Thursday, the 21th and then our last home game of the season will be back at Legends on Thursday the 28st of March.
Take note as well that our final game of the season is a Sunday game at Newcastle, 11:30 am-1:30 pm. I know it's tough coming out on Easter Sunday, but it is the last game of the season and maximum participation would be a good thing.
See you on the ice!
Cory's Win A Squeaker At The Shrine

Well boys and girls and Hockey enthusiasts of all ages, you missed a good one at the "Shrine" the other night.
Cory's Boys came in to have a little fun and it turned out to be one of the hardest fought, fast paced games this reporter has witnessed in his tenure at my post.
The Boys reminded me of a younger Hot Dog team, say right around the time Kevin and Jack took over the reins. Cory's guys came in sure of themselves and a little cocky to boot.
All the razzle dazzle though didn't mean much to the Dogs. They gave Cory's a run for their money and in the end showed to upstarts that there was still some gas left in the the Old Guys.
Good job to all attended the Shrine.
Remember, next two games are at Donovan. Both start at 9:00 pm. See you there.
Things Are Looking Up

Well sports fans, to give the Devil his Due it could be argued that the boys played a good game last night. Despite looking desperate around the opposition's goal the guys definately played a better brand of hockey last night than 7 evenings ago.
It should also be noted that it was a good call to pull George in the waning minutes. Once he heard us yelling from the bench and we had the 6th attacker on the ice we gave the Motion Boys something to think about. The last goal was an empty-netter so some might say doesn't really count.
Good going guys! Keep it up and we will see you next week.
When You Start To Slide.....!

I don't know what else to say. Absolutely, the boys could have done better in Kitchener. Will management get together in the off season? Of Course! Will changes be made? Who is to say!
The boys are on a down slide now. How long it will last is up to them. That they will recover goes without saying. They have been in this position before and found a way out. This reporter, for one, KNOWS they will find a way again.
One last thing. I was a little short with Jeff last night in the dressing room regarding this publishing venue. It was my mistake, and Jeff, you have my apologies.
That's it for now sports fans, see you around the rink!
