The Pelicans were hoping to get another game in the win column but came up with a short roster again. Team D also had a short roster but managed to recruit a few all-star subs to skate the game. The Pelicans were pleased to be able to get "The Commissioner" - "The Rickmeister" - " "The V-Man" Vanderleest" to skate as a sub. This was an advantage as "The Comish" had a first hand look at Team D's flagrant rules violations. The game is on appeal.
Aside from that the Pelicans faced another team that for this game was extremely speedy and skilled and thus the Pelicans took another one on the chin. Final score Team D 12 - Pelicans 5.
Stars for the Pelicans: *Price (2 goals, 1 assist) / ** Szkodzinski (1 goal, 1 assist) / *** Picha ( 1 goal.)
Additional Pelicans Scoring: Litzsinger (1 goal) ; Morgan Herzog (2 assists) ; Scheer (1 assist); Ness (1 assist); Vanderleest (1 assist.) Szkodzinski scored on a strong rush to the net with a top shelf rocket shot. Later a hard shot on net from Szkodzinski was deflected in by Picha for a goal. Price let fly a long shot that eluded the Team D goalie and his 2nd goal was on a snappy backhand shot from the side of the net.

AUGUST 06, 2017
This game was another character builder for the Pelicans but not as bad a spanking as last Sunday. Team A is very fast and has excellent passing and they took the lead early and never were threatened. The Pelicans had a modest rally late just for pride but came up well short. Final Team A 12 Pelicans 6.
Stars for the Pelicans: * Lacoursiere ( Hat Trick 3 goals, 1 assist) / ** Houn ( Defensive effort) / *** Price (1 goal, 1 assist) Additional Pelicans Scoring: Michaelson (1 goal, 1 assist); Scheer (1 goal); Mark Herzog ( 2 assists);Ness (1 assist.)
CSHL TEAM B 11 NISSAN PELICANS 1

JULY 30, 2017
This was a brutal night for the Pelicans. Six players were absent including the team's 2 top scoring aces.
Nissan had 3 reserves on the bench for the game. Of the participating skaters one collided with a Team B player
early in the game and aggravated an existing injury and was not 100% afterward. Another Nissan player was back for first skate after bicycling hundreds of miles across Iowa the past week (heavy legs.) And yet another player was ill feeling poorly and not 100%. Inspite of all this the contest was fairly competitive to the midway point of the game with Nissan trailing 4 -1. As the game progressed Nissan could not match the speed of Team B as Team B shelled goalie Ian Herzog. Final score Team B 11 - Nissan 1 ( or maybe 2 we will have to check the video.) It was a spanking. Ian Herzog played very well in goal otherwise Team B may have hit the 20 goal mark. Best to shake this one off and get back on track next Sunday.
The one sure goal for Nissan was scored ugly as a centering pass from Litzsinger from behind the net bounced off Ness and past Team B goalie. Scheer for Nissan came close to scoring ringing 3 shots off the goal posts. Assist to Scheer on the Pelicans only goal.

JULY 23, 2017
The Pelicans were 5 skaters and a goalie short of a full roster and had to call in substitute goalie Matt Tushaus from the IRON LEAGUE. Tushaus played large stopping 3 break-aways and making some very acrobatic saves to keep the game close. Mike Szkodzinski provided the offensive punch from the defensive line and the Pelicans edged Team D. Final score 9 - 8. Team D made it close getting a late goal with 6 skaters after pulling their goalie Benda.
STARS: * Szkodzinski ( Hat Trick plus 2 for 5 goals, 1 assist) / **Tushaus ( Goaltending ) / ***Scheer ( Hat Trick 3 goals.) Additional Pelicans Scoring: Litzsinger ( 1 goal, 3 assists); Ness (4 assists); Houn ( 2 assists);Pasterski (1 assist.)
