NEWS: Nine Players Added for 2015-16 Season

Posted by: Ryan Evans on Wed Oct 14th 2015 1:32pm

Team America has officially added nine new players to its roster for the upcoming 2015-16 season: Chris Anderson (goaltender), Joseph Blaney, Steve DeMatteis, Matthew Fairbanks, Alex Hardyman, Kenny Lawrence, RJ Kelly, Eric Theis, and Zach Wilkinson.

Five of those players come in with a winning pedigree, having played for the 2015 Level 1 Summer League champion Colts.

There is a lot of turnover from last season's winless team, with only half of that team returning, including leading scorers Tom Miskavige and Justin Schwechter, as well as Brendan Rose, Mike Downs, Daniel Plooster, Dane Espenson, Christopher Bixby, Logan Martin, Ryan Evans, and John McElhenny.

The puck drops on the 2015-16 AHA fall season in a few weeks and you can expect a much-improved Team America squad this year.

RECAP: Game 20 vs. Spartans (March 21, 2015)

Posted by: Ryan Evans on Wed Mar 25th 2015 3:12pm

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. - Team America's inaugural season ended with a league-ruled forfeit loss, 1-0, to the Spartans (9-10-1-0, 5th place) Saturday night. Despite the "forfeit," the two teams played a full game, which T.A. won, 9-3.

The game was ruled a forfeit because the World Police (0-20-0-0 *technically*, 7th place) borrowed two opposing players to fill out their bench because only five of their own players were available. Both Team America and the Spartans played the game under the impression that the game would not be forfeited. So, while the standings won't show it, as far as Team America is concerned, it finished the season with a win.

The "loss" concludes the first season in Team America history. Forward Justin Schwechter finished as the team leader in goals (13) and points (26) and tied with forward Tom Miskavige for the assists crown (13).

See you all next year.
